Places: Alexander Springs Wilderness Area. Ocala National Forest, Florida

Snorkeling/freediving
The spring is located in the middle of a small lake. It has a white sandy bottom, lots of vegetation around the spring, and attracks a fair amount of fish and sometimes turtles. The lake is not very deep, depth range from knee high to 5 feet, it is a good place for beginners and children to play. When you get bored explore the shallows, head to the spring area, which is about 20 feet at the deepest part. The largest opening in the limestone opens very low and horizontally, you should not try to penetrate it too far while freediving.
